Here's a Simple Recipe for Making Delicious Mango ice cream at Home:

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Mangoes: Peel and dice the ripe mangoes. Remove the pit and cut the flesh into small pieces. You can also puree the mangoes for a smoother texture.

  2. Make the Base: In a blender, combine the diced mangoes, heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Taste and adjust the sugar if needed.

  3. Chill the Mixture: Pour the mango mixture into a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap or a lid. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2-3 hours, or until it's thoroughly chilled. Chilling the mixture helps enhance the flavors and texture of the ice cream.

  4. Churn the Ice Cream: Once the mixture is chilled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. The churning process incorporates air into the mixture and helps create a creamy texture. This usually takes around 20-25 minutes.

  5. Transfer and Freeze: Transfer the churned mango ice cream into a lidded container. You can also fold in small mango chunks for added texture, if desired. Smooth the top and cover the surface with parchment paper or plastic wrap before sealing the container with the lid. This helps prevent ice crystals from forming on the surface.

  6. Final Freeze: Place the container in the freezer and let the ice cream freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until it's firm and scoopable.

  7. Serve and Enjoy: Once the mango ice cream is fully frozen, it's ready to be enjoyed! Scoop it into bowls or cones and savor the refreshing and fruity flavors of homemade mango ice cream.

Remember, homemade ice cream can be a bit firmer than store-bought varieties due to the lack of certain stabilizers and emulsifiers. If the ice cream becomes too hard after extended freezing, allow it to soften at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping.

Enjoy your delicious homemade mango ice cream!
