Lemon Basil Green Tea Cooler Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 green tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose green tea)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and basil leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Brew the Green Tea:

    • Bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
    • Place the green tea bags or loose green tea in a heatproof container.
    • Pour the boiling water over the tea and steep for 3-4 minutes (or according to the package instructions). Avoid over-steeping to prevent bitterness.
  2. Infuse with Basil:

    • While the tea is still hot, add torn basil leaves to the tea.
    • Let the tea cool down with the basil leaves in it. This will allow the basil flavor to infuse into the tea.
  3. Sweeten and Chill:

    • Once the tea has cooled to room temperature, remove the basil leaves and tea bags (if using) and discard them.
    • Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey to sweeten the tea. Adjust the honey according to your desired level of sweetness.
  4. Chill and Serve:

    • Transfer the tea to the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 1-2 hours.
  5. Serve:

    • When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes.
    • Pour the chilled Lemon Basil Green Tea over the ice.
    • Garnish with lemon slices and fresh basil leaves.
  6. Enjoy:
